I feel like a kid in a candy store! My day was a fiber-addict’s dream day: all my processed fleeces have returned to me, my new roving project from my fiber club arrived, and my last roving became yarn that I actually like enough to drool over. It is almost more than a person can stand.

My roving is amazing.  I had 3 alpaca fleeces but they needed washing, carding, etc. I knew the longer they sat, the less likely I would actually do anything with them. I didn’t want them to deteriorate – but, to be honest, washing and carding are not my favorite tasks. Luckily for me, Morro Fleece Works was happy to do it! And what a job she did! The roving is so soft and squishy. I can’t wait to spin it.

I had also sent her a Romney/Coopworth fleece and, in the end, the cleaned fleece was so beautiful we decided to skip carding. Carding would have blended all the colors to an even brown but combing or spinning from the lock can preserve their natural variations. Look at how luscious it looks!

At the same time, I have been participating in the Blue Moon Fiber Arts spinning club. Once every two months we get a roving and share our spinning experiences through a Ravelry group. The first two went well and I just finished the 3rd (in time for the next shipment). It is lovely yarn and it matches my heather almost perfectly. I am really enjoying spinning all these different colors and fibers. My spinning and color-handling capability are definitely improving.
