Here we are at year end, about to celebrate with colorfublanket colorsl fireworks the beginning of a new year. Behind us are the celebrations of Kwanza, Christmas, Hannukah, and Solstice, to name but a few. One thing they all have is light – and with it color – to fight the dark and grey we get here in the Pacific Northwest. And for that I am truly thankful! The rain and fog are more towel colorsoppressive when the lumens available are at their nadir. It is dark here, folks!spinning reds

This almost always gets me yearning for color, bright bright color. My latest warp? Goldenrod. The one before? Random stripe dishtowels of stash knitting yarn. My spinning? Deep red variegated silk/merino mix. In the queue to make more? Turqoise, red, and lemon yellow tencel. Peacoctencelk, green, yellow, orange, and brick cottolin. I have plenty of white, plenty of brown, plenty of grey, but I just can not find it in my heart to tackle anything in those color

[sic] ways right now. Even my knitting has taken a colorful turn. I am going for vibrant!

So, as I light my tree for these last few days of the year and celebrate the return of the light (and color), I wish you a very happy, creative, and colorful New Year!
